Sunday Report and Pictures

Friday

So on Friday, early morning, we headed out. This involved moving all of our luggage into the truck and getting an 8 year old into the backseat.

All by 9am.

But we did it. We took Mountain City highway (route...225 maybe?) up through mountain home, then got on I-84 and drove into Boise. Got our room (we roomed next to people from Yaoi con!!) and unpacked.

It was close to 3 now. We found food, got in costume (Lady Kayura, Sailor Neptune, and Pikachu), then wandered around the Con area. Opening ceremonies was great, Jeremy rocked, Kagashien totally hooked me (I went back Saturday!). We took lots of pictures and people took our pictures. My brother wanted to go swimming, so Neptune and Kayura sat around while Pikachu stripped all his fur and got wet.

Saw Ri and Plude and glomped, talked about Yaoi night, got separated, missed each other, got hungry.

Later, we took Pikachu back to the room and put him to bed. We changed into normalish clothing and headed to Yaoi night.

Yaoi night was totally rocking!!! Tentacle monster!! Rape!! Yaoi!! Heee!!! *dies* It was sooooo great, and the Wufei was totally awesome!! *squees in fangirl delight* Janet left at some point, earlier than me.

Maybe 45-hour later, I decided that I knew my brother, and he would be awake at god awful, so I headed back to my room to get some sleep.

Saturday

Saturday started way too early. I slept maybe 4 hours. The hotel beds weren't quite so comfortable, and I kept dreaming that janet was laying on top of me, and so I keep shoving her off. Unfortanately, the shoving her away from me wasn't part of the dream and I woke her up at one point where she said "Shara! I'm on the egde already!" in which I realized I must have be totally making up the fact she was smothering me. And thus I tried to quite shoving her away, because she was already away. We headed downstairs and registered for the Cosplay comp, half dressed and mostly asleep. The mostly asleep caused us to call ourselves the Desert Chickens. Then we headed back to our room, and got dressed in costume.

17, 18, and Krillin invaded the con for awhile. Then my brother wanted to swim more so 17 and 18 hung out by the pool side, where little kids went "The androids!! I know you!" to us, while their parents eyes us warily.

Eventually, we went to the Kagashien performance (Which rocked!!!) Afterwards, we sort of hung out in the room. Actually, what we were doing was last minute fixes on our TV (we had to borrow duct tape from the nice j-rock cosplayer!) and worrying about our performance. Then we headed downstairs to the place we were supposed to be, where we stood in line against a wall for like... 30-45 minutes. I would have been fine. Janet would have been fine. However, we also had an 8 year old with us. He wasn't fine. He was bored out of his mind. Evetually, though, it got organized, we were number 8, the event started, people went, people clapped, more people went, more clapping, then it was our turn. *rolls eyes and laughs* Cosplay competitions with an 8 year old. Yeah, it was magic. Jeremy's comment as we left stage was "Well, that was no better dubbed than the real anime!" TO which we laughed. It was true.

We wanted to watch the rest of the show. My bro wanted to swim (gee, see a pattern yet?) so I sent him to the room to change into his swimming trunks while I talked to Ri and Plude (who apparantly had a bad word experience on stage) he went swimming, I went back into the cosplay just in time for the awards, we won nothing, but thats okay, we weren't really expecting to, We just have fun performing.

When it was over, we headed toward our room, found Ri and Plude who convinced us we should come to the Anime Slumber Party (without a camp fire!! :), so we decided to, we went upstairs and changed into something that 17 and 18 may or may not wear to bed (according to me, 17 sleeps in his gun. I think I decided this because the belt the gun is on also had his pouch, which I could keep the hotel room key in and such) then headed back down, found ri and plude, sat around, decided that the slumber party didnt seem to be started for over an hour, did random things, ditched Krillin in the room for his bed time (midnight, what a great bed time for an 8 year old) and headed back downstairs. The slumber party started, we had 17, 18, Goten, and Trunks on our blanket, he he. Trunks (Plude) went up with me and 18 for the sleep wear cosplay, then Trunks went up with Goten for it. Sat around, talked, had fun, got raped by tentacle monster, met wondermous wufei/tsuzuki, watched weird karaokee ("I'm going to pull something out of my wallet and you have to sing it!"), eventally got tired and headed up to the room for bed.

Sunday

On Sunday, we got up, packed everything, moved it all to the truck, then headed to the desk and checked out. After that, we went to the con area, lounged, lounged, and lounged. Then we went to the Cosplay Cooking Competition, where I used the last of my film. While we waited for the the art room to open, we went to the game room, pretended to DDR, and then watched in stunned silence as the X cosplayers (same ones we saw at Yaoi con; I showed pictures to my fried Katy [a total X nut] and she screamed and went "Oh my god, they did the eye thing!!!!" so I'd say thats a deffinite thumbs up to them) do songs on Heavy x 2 and did well! Yeah, we felt like beginners all over again. They needed better pads though. The ones they had slid all over, and one of them had no left arrow. Janet was using it and she kept stepping on the printed left arrow, and it never registered. At one point, she stopped and kneeled down and just beat the pad till she found the arrow. It was not where it should be; that's all I'll say. Anyways, after the art room opened, we picked up the art we bid on, then we headed out before closing ceremonies, so we could get home before dark.
